It happened on a hillside a long time ago...
The LORD of all, the WORD,
was healing mankind's sicknesses
then evening came.
His followers, practical men that they were,
told Him what He needed to do-
"send the crowds away to buy food."
But the LORD of all, the WORD, replied,
"why send them away?
You give them something to eat."
His followers knew their limits-
"We have only five loaves of bread
and two fish," they admitted..
"Bring them here to me," He said.
The LORD of all, the WORD,
took His followers limited provisions.
He took those five small loaves and 2 fish-
and looking up to the Maker of all, He gave thanks and broke the loaves.
Then He gave those
limited provisions
to 12 skeptical followers to share with hungry people
in His limitless fashion...
The LORD of all, the WORD.
All the hungry people ate and were satisfied.
And his followers gathered up 12 basketfuls...
...leftovers from 5 small loaves and 2 little fish.
The LORD of all, the WORD,
...and LORD of math,
bread and fish,
multiplication problems and solutions.
The LORD of BMS.
Each year
at Belleville Mennonite,
His 21st century followers
bring their loaves and fish and He multiplies their provisions again.
The event is called
Faith Promise.
Please join us at BMS October 17-19 for this inspiring occasion.
